The underpinnings for Zenith’s heritage of accessible technologies were pioneering developments in hearing aid technology from the 1930s through the 1970s. Zenith introduced the first analog TVs with closed caption capability in 1992, the first HDTVs with digital closed captioning in 1999, and the first digital-to-analog converter boxes with digital closed captions and analog pass-through of captions and video descriptions for the blind in 2008.
